Roadmap

FactorForge's public roadmap connects the paper/research-software journey with a claim-bounded product journey.

Current focus

The current public scope is reproducible in-silico CDS candidate generation and pre-synthesis sequence review for plant CDS workflows. This includes profile-guided CDS design, sequence-level metrics, assembly-relevant checks, provenance metadata, and public-safe feedback records.

Research-software journey

The paper-facing track keeps FactorForge grounded in current evidence:

  • reproducible in-silico CDS candidate generation
  • deterministic benchmark artifacts and documented metrics
  • explicit sequence-level constraints and provenance metadata
  • public-safe wet-lab feedback summaries, when available
  • limitations that separate computational review from biological performance

Product roadmap themes

Beyond version-bound engineering work, FactorForge is being shaped as a pre-synthesis review harness for plant CDS design workflows.

  • Experimental speed — deterministic assembly checks, sequence-complexity warnings, multi-gene assembly review, and reproducible design packages.
  • Production-quality review — host/profile maturity labels and quality-risk-aware design annotations for expert review.
  • Regulatory and safety boundaries — privacy-aware review workflows, local-first safety screening hooks, and public-safe feedback processes.

These themes are intended to improve reviewability and reproducibility. They do not guarantee expression, glycosylation, folding, yield, synthesis acceptance, biosecurity compliance, regulatory approval, or downstream biological performance.
